Attitude of Gratitude - 11/15

I'm thankful for cold, rainy, dreary days.  Really.  This is my favorite kind of day.

Attitude of Gratitude - 11/14

I'm thankful for my brothers.  We have such a great time when just two of us are together, but it's even better when we're all three together.  And I love that they love each other and they're so close.  I love my brothers.

Attitude of Gratitude

Thanksgiving Day is less than two weeks from now, and I'm thinking, why wait until then to count my many blessings?  I'm going to try to post something for which I'm thankful every day in November with a picture.  Since Facebook is overrun with such posts, I think I'll leave mine here and the reader can follow along if they so desire.  Meanwhile, since it's November 13th, I've got some catching up to do!  Pictures will have to wait until tomorrow.
11/1 - cool weather
11/2 - changing leaves
11/3 - a growing little girl and her first tooth
11/4 - being able to watch her develop and stay home with her
11/5 - the little girl's friendly growl when she sees someone or something she likes
11/6 - the end of Daylight Saving Time
11/7 - longer nights
11/8 - brownies
11/9 - a second tooth
11/10 - a warm house
11/11 - freedom and the veterans who won that for me
11/12 - steady income
11/13 - lazy Saturdays

... stay tuned every day from now to the end of November for the rest of my blessings!  You know, this could easily be a year-long project.

Strike From the Christmas List...

... her two front teeth!!!

Exactly a week after her first tooth (bottom left) popped up, the second one (top right) made its timely appearance.

I guess she'll still need the remaining two front teeth to fill in on the bottom right and top left.  But at the rate she's going now with the teeth, she may have them before Christmas as well  :-)

What's in Leslie's Toy Box?

  • toy cell phone
  • board books
  • box of smoked oysters
  • empty Mountain Dew bottle
  • junk mail papers
  • teether toys
  • toddler shoes that are currently too big for her
  • shampoo rinse cup
  • Baby Einstein musical toy

What We've Been Up To

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've updated!  Since then we've had Leslie's first Halloween, she turned nine months, and her first little tooth finally popped up.

I took her to Oak Ridge on Halloween to trick-or-treat with her second cousin Lily.  We mostly just tagged along while Lily got the loot, but it was fun.  Lily's mom Chrissy and I used to trick-or-treat when we were of age, so it's exciting to revive the tradition with the next generation.  Man, that makes me sound old  :-(  Leslie loved it.  She loves people, so she was always excited to see who would come to the door when Lily knocked.  She had a My First Halloween onesie with black and orange pants instead of a costume.  I just couldn't bring myself to put her in a costume and ask for candy, when most people know I'm the one who'd be eating it.  Lily (and her Mommy) were gracious enough to share a little Beanie Baby with Leslie, and a sheet of stickers for her baby book. I am already looking forward to coming up with a costume for her next year and trick-or-treating with our cousins again.

She went to the pediatrician for her 9 month well visit, and she was 16.5 lbs and 26.25 inches, both of which are the 10-15th percentile.  She is our LITTLE girl for sure. While Dr. Joe was examining her, he showed me her gums with his cool little pen light.  In addition to the tooth that had been trying to surface for months now, she also has one on the top and another one on the bottom that are close to coming up.  You could almost see the one on top.  I stopped trying to check her gums after that because she would get mad and I figured I'll find out sooner or later.

I'm nine months old today!  11/3/10

The night before she turned nine months old, which was about five days after her Dr. visit, something told me to rub her gum while she was dozing off to sleep.  There was that tiny little sharp first tooth!  Wonder when the next two will make their appearance?
